I am hearing a clanking sound coming from rear when I shift from first to second?

2005 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad 4x4 5.7. Could it be u joints or rear going. It feels like one wheel is spinning when I turn. Clank is not real loud but I dont want the rear to lock up on me
