Can i still breastfeed after Oral Surgery?

I just has to have oral surgery to get a tooth removed. They did IV sedation and put me to sleep. Can i still breastfeed. One nurse told me i had to pump and dump and the dentist told me that i could breastfeed after 6 hours. They also prescribed me acetametiphen with hydracodone. I thought that wasnt good to breastfeed with.
