When a car makes a loud clanking noise and the oil?

light comes on, while I am driving, could that be just an oil pan loose or is it something else? I got stuck in the mud in my yard during he last heavy snow we had here in Maryland. The car is suppose to be able to handle that type of issue. What could the possibilities be for trouble shooting before taking it to a dealer?
